Clean up the DVD pile with a great cabinet
I've bought and put together other media cabinets before for non-media uses (the narrow ones make great bathroom cabinets and hold a ton of stuff.) This time, though, I really needed a cabinet for all my DVDs. Many of them are rare and hard to find, and I didn't want to just put them on alternate media and do away with the DVDs themselves.

The Simpli media cabinet seemed like it'd fit the bill. It's small but big enough to hold a substantial number of DVDs, and the color fits in perfectly with my decor. The quality is nice, much like the media cabinet I bought several years ago. As usual, the directions are awful, but if you've done the cam thing before (how you screw the product together), you'll figure out how this works.

It took several hours, including my own little addition: I added four L-brackets to the back, one at each corner, to provide extra strength and stability.

It's a fine looking piece, easily holds dozens of DVDs on adjustable shelves...

I purchased this table hoping that it would look as good as it does in the photo and that it would be easy to put together.....successful on both of those accounts. I also purchased a separate set of two of the cross back chairs....only took me a couple hours to put all 6 chairs together and literally 15 minutes or so to put the dining table together. Well worth the price and looks great when finished. I would recommend this set to anyone looking for a nice dining room without a $1k price tag.

Instructions were sometimes vague...as if I am a pro at lining up the real tiny gold colored screws into the metal holders and screwing them into the sides of the cabinet. The actual drilling was done probably by machine...and they seem to be off by a bit and so the cabinet top drawer is a quarter inch too low. As a result of more drilling off...the second lower drawer will not close properly! I have to redrill all the holes! Weird because I bought a Sauder stereo cabinet and it was near perfect at being lined up for putting together in 1985. I guess their drilling standards are not as good as they used too be! What a pain having to redo the project.

If you're looking for something that will cover only the bottom half of your large window; like obstruct a parking lot if you're located on a higher-than-ground floor - this might do the trick. I love mine, but there is a .25"-.50" gap between each panel - so your privacy is not 100%. However, I got around this by using a strip of white duck tape on the outer side of the panels to cover the gap. I now have 100% privacy and the tape is completely unnoticeable from the indoor and outdoor views. The opaque white paper lets in maximum light, but still offers total privacy. I am very satisfied with this good-quality product.

We received this product severely damaged (six pieces and one had to do with the internal integrity of the unit). One piece also looked like it had been touched up with pen. It is not packaged well for delivery through UPS. Also there is no real wood anywhere in the product. It looks pretty in the picture, but is not worth it for the price you have to pay or the hassle you will have to go through to return it.
