Hefty, good looking coffee table
This is a solid, dark coffee table that is pretty much just as described and pictured. I like it a lot - it's substantial and good looking.
Observation - this is a little bit less long than I normally expect from a coffee table, giving it a slightly more "square" look than I am used to. (The top measures 24" x 47 1/2", and the unit is 18 1/4" high.)
It's pine wood with a very dark veneer - the real wood gives it a solid heft that you don't get from particle board, but it's still veneer, so any chips or scratches will show the white pine underneath unless you can find a matching stain or putty. The drawer handles are a modern looking nickel, and the whole unit feels very sturdy once you finish attaching all the various screws, dowels, and cam bolts.
It comes disassembled, with an Allen wrench. You will also need a Philips head screwdriver and maybe a small hammer to tap in the dowels. It took me about 90 minutes to assemble it,...
