Beautiful, lifelike set
I was looking for a nativity scene for my mother who is in her late 60's. I wanted something traditional that showed artistic talent and quality. This set really exceeded my (and her) expectations. It looks like a high end nativity scene that would be in a church around Christmas time. The faces are lifelike, with serene expressions. The clothing is done in an antique finish similar to Hummel figures. Overall the set projects a sacred and special quality. I was initially hesitant about the size of the figures (the tallest is 16 inches), but they fit well into a display space of about 4 square feet, and because of their size they stand out, making a nice statement in a room with a Christmas tree and other decorations.
The package doesn't come with a suggested layout for the scene, so I have two suggestions:
1) A 2 foot by 2 foot scene with Mary/Joseph/Jesus on the left, and the wise men on the right side, facing them. The standing wise man with the chest of gold coins...
